We are currently seeking volunteer simultaneous interpreters and/or translators proficient in English to Arabic translation, as well as other official working languages of UNESCO / the International Council on Archives (Chinese, French, Hindi, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish) for an upcoming virtual archives and records management training course catering to Palestine, Lebanon and the Global South. We are especially seeking volunteers who have professional and/or academic training in libraries and archives, ensuring that participants can fully engage with the specialized terms and content of the training. This training program will be scheduled during various times/dates in the next few months, and a wide range of availability can be accommodated. A small honorarium will be provided as needed.

About the training program and organizers: We are offering the free live online course on archives and records management. Fundamentals of Archival Management & Emergency Mitigation in Palestine, Lebanon & the Global South.

Taught by Dr. Jamila J. Ghaddar; Tam Rayan; Andrew Sandock; Krystal Payne; and Patrick McGee with accessibility and coordination facilitated by Ghada Dimashq and Dr. Nisha Toomey.
Co-presented with the Middle East Librarians Association’s Archives & Records Advocacy & Training Group and the Archives & Digital Media Lab.
In collaboration with the Archives Association in Palestine; Lebanese Library Association; and the Fighting Erasure: Digitizing Gaza’s Genocide and the War on Lebanon project (PI’s: Drs. Rami Zurayk, Hanine Shehadeh and Jamila J. Ghaddar).
